Railway link

SAPIR can manage the transfer of goods by rail using its own 14 km railway line serving the terminals.

All wharves are connected to the railway branch lines and terminals deal with all the procedures relating to loading and unloading, completing the necessary documents and booking trucks on freight trains.

As regards the transportation of bulk goods, the use of swap bodies to replace the conventional railway carriages has made an intermediate loading/unloading operation unnecessary, with significant benefits in terms of the time it takes for the goods to reach their final destination.
